“In Italy, the label sector has been able, for the most part, to adapt to the new situation, a consequence of the economic crisis experienced in recent years and the new demands of its customers. Our wine industry continues in a growing trend thanks to the high quality of our wines. Precisely for this reason, there is a need and obligation to present your product with labels with more added value and sophistication with the ultimate goal of providing greater differentiation to your final product " says Sabatino Bonchi.

“The key to the success of the label is to guarantee the impact and visibility of the wine in different environments. That is why, on the one hand, more resources have been allocated to dressing the container with more striking and higher quality labels " Sabatino remarks.

The label industry is experiencing a sustained growth, with the recovery of domestic consumption and the boost in exports as the main causes, which can be summarized as more orders but less quantity for each order. Increasingly, the client diversifies and personalizes the batches, thus demanding smaller volumes of labels, with a competitive price and a delivery in record time.

“The label printing market is demanding a efficient short run production, and the Miyakoshi semi-rotary press produces, for many of our clients, high-quality short runs from just 350-400 meters at speeds of up to 60 m/min. It is common for multiple jobs to be spread across the entire width of the machine. Many Miyakoshi printers are using our semi-rotary press much like a digital printing machine. The set-up is short, and the ink opening areas are pre-adjusted directly from the material in PDF format. The costs of offset plates are practically negligible. All finishing processes (simple varnishing, die-cutting, laminating and hot stamping) for the Miyakoshi machine are completed offline.” Yuichi Ikeda, General Director of Miyakoshi Europe, details us.

“Demand in Europe doubled between 1996 and 2013, reaching over 6,000 M m2, and with forecasts of another 5% growth in 2014, according to Finat data. In fact, the Global demand for labels will increase by 4.9% annuallyl, reaching 57,700 M m2 in 2018, with a market value of 114,000 M$.
